TwinChat Community Guidelines
Last updated: 13 October 2026
TwinChat is a place for adults to meet people through a shared map, posts, chats and voice rooms. These guidelines explain what is and is not allowed. They apply to everything on TwinChat, including names, profiles, photos, voice recordings, map posts, locations, chats, voice rooms, reactions and gifts, and they are part of the Terms of Service. TwinChat is only for people aged 18 or over.
Be a good member of the community
- Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people. If you cannot stay respectful, step away, leave the room or block the person.
- Respect privacy and consent. Ask before you photograph, record or post about someone. If someone stops replying or blocks you, accept it and do not contact them through other accounts or channels.
- Be yourself. Use your own photos and your real age, and be honest about who you are.
- Think about safety. Be careful about sharing where you live, work or will be.
What is not allowed
Sexual content and exploitation. No pornography, nudity or sexually explicit images, audio or text. No sexual solicitation or offers of sexual services for money or gifts. No sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images of anyone without their consent, including images taken secretly and sexual deepfakes. TwinChat is for adults, but that does not make sexual content allowed, and there are no artistic or educational exceptions.
Child sexual exploitation. We have zero tolerance for any content or conduct that sexually exploits or endangers children. See the Child Safety Standards below.
Harassment and bullying. No targeted personal attacks. No following someone around the app, the map or voice rooms to intimidate them. No unwanted sexual advances or comments. No piling on someone or organising others to target them. No new accounts to keep contacting someone who blocked you or to get around a moderation decision.
Hate. No attacks on, or promotion of hatred against, people because of who they are, including their age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, body size or appearance. No slurs, hateful symbols, dehumanising stereotypes, coded hate or support for hate groups.
Violence and threats. No threats of violence or sexual violence. No content that glorifies or graphically shows violence against people or animals. No encouraging anyone to hurt themselves. No support for terrorist or violent extremist groups, their propaganda or their symbols.
Privacy and doxxing. Do not share other people's personal information, such as phone numbers, private email addresses, home or work addresses or other private locations, identity numbers, financial details, passwords, medical information or anything else that could put them at risk. Do not post photos in which other people can be identified, or their voices or private conversations, without their consent.
Impersonation and fake profiles. Do not pretend to be someone else, use other people's photos, or claim a false connection with a person, an organisation or TwinChat.
Scams and fraud. Do not ask other users for money, gift cards or financial details. No romance or investment scams, phishing, malware or links designed to take over accounts.
Illegal goods and activities. Do not sell or promote illegal drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods or other illegal goods or services. No human trafficking or sex work.
Spam and manipulation. No spam, advertising or repeated posts that flood the map or chats. No fake accounts or automated activity. No manipulating likes, gifts, coins or other counts. No disrupting voice rooms, and no using features in a way that floods other people with notifications.
Other people's rights. Only post photos, recordings and other content that you have the right to share.
Synthetic media. No AI-generated or digitally altered images or audio that sexualise real people, show minors in a sexual way, or are meant to deceive others about who someone is or what they did.
Map posts and places
- Do not mark other people's homes, workplaces, schools or other private places, or post location details that could be used to find someone.
- Picked locations carry a Picked location label. Do not use them to pretend you are somewhere, to mislead others or to track anyone.
- Do not use location sharing or map posts to follow, stalk or monitor anyone.
- Voice posts are not automatically checked for meaning. Do not use them to harass, threaten or spread hate.
- Videos follow the same rules as photos. Do not post videos of people who did not agree to be filmed and posted.
Voice rooms
Hosts and co-hosts must follow these guidelines too. Use approving speakers, muting, removing members, locking seats and turning room chat off to keep the room on track, never to harass, humiliate or discriminate against members. Invite links can be forwarded, so give them only to people you want to invite. Do not record or rebroadcast what others say without their consent. If you are treated unfairly, you can leave the room, report the host from the room's More menu, or open a person's profile to report or block them.
IDs and room passwords
- Do not use IDs to find or keep contacting someone who blocked you or asked you to stop.
- Do not try to guess room passwords or share a room's password to bring back someone the host removed.
Discover
- Reply to the post, not the person: no insults, threats or pile-ons in replies.
- Do not follow, reply to or repost someone again and again to get their attention after they blocked you or asked you to stop.
- Do not use replies or reposts for advertising, fraud, asking for money, promoting investments or sex work.
- Repost only what you could post yourself; a repost of content that breaks these guidelines is treated as your own.
Meeting people safely
We do not run background checks and cannot verify who other users are. If you meet someone from TwinChat, meet in a public place, tell a friend or family member your plans, arrange your own transport and never send money. If something feels wrong, leave, report the account, and contact local emergency services if you are in danger.
Child Safety Standards
TwinChat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). TwinChat is only for adults, and these standards apply to every account and all content. You must not:
- upload, share, link to, request or promote CSAM;
- show minors in a sexual way in any form, including drawings, animation, text and AI-generated material;
- groom, sexually solicit or sextort a minor, or try to arrange to meet a minor;
- take part in or help the trafficking or sexual exploitation of children;
- praise, support or give instructions for the abuse of children.
How to report. In the app, use Report in the More menu of a profile, a chat or a map post (in a voice room, Report in the More menu reports the host). Choose Underage if you believe a user is under 18. You can also email our child safety contact below with the account or content details, the time and a short description. Never download, forward, screenshot or attach suspected CSAM; describe where it is instead. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
What we do. We remove CSAM and related content as soon as we find it, close the accounts involved, preserve the evidence the law requires, and report it to the competent law enforcement authorities and child protection reporting bodies, as the law requires. We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us. If we find that a user is under 18, we close the account.

Reporting and blocking
Use Report in the More menu of a profile, a chat or a map post. In a voice room, Report in the More menu reports the room's host; to report or block anyone else you met in a room, open their profile. You can block someone from the More menu of their profile, a chat or a map post, or choose Report and block when you report them outside a voice room. Blocking works in both directions: neither of you can see the other on the map, in posts or in voice rooms, or message the other. For copyright, illegal content or other safety issues, you can also email us with details that identify the content and why you are reporting it. Do not send passwords or verification codes, and do not send identity documents unless we ask for them.
How we enforce these guidelines
We rely on your reports, automated checks and our own review. Automated text and image checks give only partial protection and make mistakes in both directions. Voice posts, voice messages and voice rooms are not automatically checked for meaning. A post reported by enough established accounts is taken off the map until a person reviews it. When we review a report, we look at the context and the evidence and choose a response that fits the situation. Depending on how serious the problem is and whether it is repeated, we may:
- remove content, or take a post off the map;
- stop the same file from being posted again;
- suspend an account for a set time, or close it permanently;
- report illegal activity to the authorities.
In urgent or illegal situations we may act first and review afterwards. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell the person affected what we did and why.
Appeals and complaints
If you think we made the wrong decision about your content or account, you can appeal. If you accept that you broke a rule and have fixed the problem, you can ask us to restore your content or account. Email us with your account email, the decision you are asking about and why it should change, including any information we did not have. Appeals are decided by a person, not by automated means, and we will reply with a decision within a reasonable time. We reverse or change a decision when it was mistaken, when the content or conduct did not break the law or these guidelines, or when a lighter measure is enough. You can also email us to complain about illegal content on TwinChat or about how we handled a report. The law where you live may give you further ways to challenge a decision.
